ACE Executive Committee

Day-to-day operations of ACE are governed by a three-person Executive Committee, headed by the president of ACE.

Alexis Walckiers is the president of ACE.  He is the Chief Economist of the Belgian competition authority. As Chief Economist, he is not only closely involved in the day-to-day work of Belgian case teams, but he also assists the Director General with regard to the positions taken by the Belgian authority in international working groups and advisory committees. He also participates in the advocacy initiatives of the Belgian authority. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Université libre de Bruxelles and has published several papers in economic journals, including one in the Journal of the European Economic Association P&P. Before joining the Belgian Competition Authority, he has worked for Breugel, an EU think tank, and Oxera, an economic consultancy.  His email is Alexis.Walckiers@bma-abc.be

Volker Nocke is a Professor of Economics at the University of Mannheim, holding the Chair in Microeconomics. He received his PhD from the London School of Economics. Before moving to Mannheim, he was the Professor of Industrial Economics at the University of Oxford, and prior to that, an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Pennsylvania. He is an Editor of the Journal of Industrial Economics, a member of the Council of the European Economic Association, and a senior member of the Mannheim Centre for Competition and Innovation (MaCCI).His e-mail is
